90's Detective's Office
3D Asset Pack
NOTHING HERE IS RANDOM
For this project we were asked to create a 3D space by modelling all the elements that would later on be part of an asset pack. Several models were created to fill the space, my contribution included the modelling and texturizing of an Old Radio, Pin Board, Cigarette Pack and Ashtray, Grandfather Clock, Chair, Briefcase and Smoking Pipe. 3 different rooms were created for each time of day, the showcased one being the result of my creativity.

CONCEPT
We had a vision we wanted to recreate, an early 90's detective's office in the middle of a supernatural murder case, like the one in Stranger Things, Gravity Falls or the ones we imagine in books like Agatha Christie's. Using lighting, textures and investigation into product designs from that decade we tried to portray a realistic representation of how this detective's office would look.

RADIO & SMOKING PIPE
For the first model I decided to do an old radio from the 90's because I feel like it's an essential in a detectives office. I went with a retro model made out of wood and beige tones to match our aesthetic.
What kind of detective doesn't smoke a pipe?. I decided that a smoking pipe was appropriate both for a detective and for the 90's.

PIN BOARD & GRANDFATHER CLOCK
The Pin Board uses a variety of images from the internet, chosen carefully so that they could be related in a way to come together and create a simulated murder case.
This one was one of the most exciting ones to model. My grandmother has one of these at her house and so I had a good feel of the shapes and details it should have.

CIGARETTES & ASHTRAY
The Ashtray was also one of my favourite models to make. At first I was just going to do the ashtray but then I started to add cigarettes, some crumbled up smoked ones and ashes and ended up doing a whole other design for a box of cigs. I based the Ashtray in the spanish ones made of this orangey transparent PMMA, which is also a very vintagey material

CHAIR & BRIEFCASE
For the chair I investigated a bit into the 90's style, decided to go with a simpler model of a chair, because I thought that in a detective's office they don't put much money or effort into the interior design as much as maybe in a CEO's office.
For the briefcase I used some references and memories of the one my father and grandad used to have long ago.
